TRANG VEGETARIAN FESTIVAL

The Festival features a chanting ceremony, a joss stick circumambulation, Guan-Im Goddess’ daughter beauty contest, dragon and lion dances, cultural performance, etc. Throughout the period of 9 consecutive days and nights of the Festival, visitors will be mesmerised by Trang’s way of life, the charm of the locals’ faith and bustle of followers in white clothes. In the evening, the activities at the shrines include supernatural rituals; such as, firewalking, bridge crossing to remove one’s bad luck, climbing the knife stairs and a Buddha image parade to go out or visit people in the community to give blessings.
